![]() Name: Park Kyungri Nickname: Riri, Gang Band/Solo: Nine Muses Journal: ![]() Aim: #lipstained Twitter: @fatalfuries Age: 24 (July 5th, 1991) Year: Senior Sorority: Sigma Kappa (President) Major: Interior Design Clubs/Sports: Drama; Yonsei Computer Lab Biography: ( I. ) Whatever you do, smile and enjoy. It's the first saying that a young Park Kyungri truly latches on to, growing up in Busan, in Haeundae. Her father was a film critic who was instrumental in the Busan International Film Festival becoming a thing at all, her mother a former waitress turned socialite who made connections and strengthened their standing among the upper class through planning and tenacity. Kyungri didn't bother her sister much, though she was often in her mother's shadow, playing with her makeup and toddling around in heels much too large for her. When she was told to spend time out of the house, she would either wander through the shops nearby and make the old women laugh at her antics or spend entirely too many coins at the arcade. ( II. ) Middle school was difficult at best. She'd always been on the tall side, but once puberty hit and she got a figure on top of it, the slanderous words wouldn't stop. Through it all, there was one classmate who had her back, steadfast and supportive. She was surprised when Jiyeop confessed to her and asked her out, but who was she to say no? Even if he was controlling and didn't like that she played fighting games for fun, he clearly cared about her and had her best interests in mind. ( III. ) He proposed shortly after they'd graduated high school, and while her father had his doubts at first, her mother convinced him that it was for the best. He was from a family of old money, it would only improve their standing even more, and their daughter would be set for life. Planning the wedding even with the help of a professional took much of Kyungri's time over the next two years. ( IV. ) Kyungri was stood up at her own wedding. The ring bearer had the sense to look apologetic as he handed her a note, standing at the back of a procession of bridesmaids who weren't her friends, but the daughters of her mother's connections. There was another girl, he admitted it in the letter, and there always had been. He had no reasoning for the lengthy ruse, offered no apology, but refused to live a lie. She was devastated, but she strode out of the hotel and into the late July rain, let it soak through her gown as she staggered her way back to the apartment they'd been sharing. All of his things were already gone. ( V. ) She refused help from anyone but her parents, though she knew that it was partially her mother's fault, for being so greedy. Even her own sister, removed from the drama with her perfumer husband in Paris, could offer little comfort, save for an invitation to visit and perhaps help look after her first child. Kyungri spent the next two years in France, though she knew little of the language at first, and tended to her niece while plastering on a smile. ( VI. ) Instead of renewing her visa, Kyungri decided to return to South Korea. After a few months spent in Busan, the memories got to be too much. She decided to finally apply for college, and she got into a number of them, but only one accepted her into their Interior Design program, something she'd fallen in love with while exploring Paris with her niece. To Seoul and Yonsei she went. It was hard for her to trust anyone at first, but the emphasis on sisterhood, real sisterhood, that Sigma Kappa had won her over. ( VII. ) Now in her junior year and the proud Vice President of her sisters, Kyungri is in a much better place in her life. She still loves her fighting games, turns to them even when she doesn't need to blow off steam, and is renowned on certain forums for her costumes, each meticulously crafted by her and her alone. While still slightly wary of relationships, she's excited for what the future holds. |
